What is Wushu?
Wushu or Kung Fu (Gongfu) is the national sport in The People's Republic of China and is known for its beautiful movements, rare forms, spectacular weapons and effective self defense techniques.
Wushu is often separated into two genres:
- Modern Wushu which emphasises on modern training methods, acrobatic skills and standardised competition routines.
- Traditional Wushu which emphasises more on practical combat drills and older training methods.
Coach Luo Hao have good knowledge in both genres and is a former Chinese champion in both traditional and modern styles of Chinese Wushu.
Hollywood action star Li Lianjie (Jet Li) is probably the most known Wushu athlete to the general public. Li was a member of the legendary Beijing Wushu Team and became Chinese overall champion five times in the 1970's.
